He can be brash at times, but his love for dragons is second to none, and he is willing to brave the worst hardships to protect the bond between humans and dragons.
A dragon of the Moonlight Claw Shell and an ever-faithful companion of Largo. Bullied by other dragons because of his rare white scales, he swore to stick by Largo's side after the tamer stood up for him. Still young in body and heart, he faces adversity with a naive enthusiasm. He cares deeply for his girlfriend, Noir of the Stardust Scale Shell.
Head tamer of the Stardust Scale Shell, once the most renowned shell in Dragnica. As Largo's shell gained popularity, hers began to lag behind, causing her to fall into a pessimistic depression. Though once outgoing and quick to tease her childhood friend, Largo, she has now become somewhat reserved. Despite her change in personality, her love towards dragons remains steadfast.
The new leader of the Scarlet Will, mercenaries of justice based in the steppes in the southwest of the continent. With her father, the Scarlet Fist, slain by the emperor and their forces decimated, she takes in the remnants of Solginat and seeks to rebuild their forces for a massive counterattack. She is devoted to the common folk to an almost dangerous degree and is rather emotionally fragile.
A young man acting as both scout and strategist for the Scarlet Will. Garnet's childhood friend. He is keenly aware of Garnet's fragility, and in addition to managing the band, is her irreplaceable pillar. He is mature, if reticent, and can be counted on to have a level head in most situations. He excels at using smoke bombs to create disorder and is the very definition of an unsung hero.
Second princess of the kingdom of Solginat. Known affectionately as 'Trisha.' While she seeks vengeance on Chaossolus for usurping her kingdom and harming its citizens, she decides to follow Garnet and prioritize the people's safety. Casting off her title as princess of a fallen nation, she becomes a mercenary. Fiercer and more active than most noble ladies, she is a genius with the bow.
The 'Shield of Mysteine,' and commander of the queen's knights. While escaping the Abyssloan coup, he shields Queen Mysfaene from a powerful curse cast by a mysterious mage who closely resembles the Founding Queen. Despite continuing to suffer the curse's effects, he soldiers on, leading efforts to rebuild Mysteine's forces and fulfill its duty as the continent's guardian.
A descendant of Meltitea's savior, Founding Queen Lunadea, she bears a duty to the continent as Mysteine's current queen. To that end, she summoned each land's leaders to a continental summit meant to hold Solginat's king accountable for recent disturbing events. However, she is unable to stop Abyssloa's revival. Despite this failure, she forges on, striving to fulfill the role she inherited.
Mysfaene's heir, he will one day inherit her duties to the continent. He knew many of the knights who died in Abyssloa's coup, and both their loss and his own powerlessness torment him still. Not one to put on airs, he is an upright and sincere prince in whom many see the makings of fine king, despite—and perhaps in part due to—his inability to see such traits in himself.
A young girl who lives in the Fae Village of Purifanoe, and believes herself to be one of their kind. It seems her faerie 'sisters' are somehow responsible for this conviction. She is usually reserved and quiet, but has an innate kindness that compels her to assist anyone she sees in trouble. Typical for the Fae Village, she loves singing, dancing, and having tea parties with her sisters.
One of the faeries who is like a sister to Alysbelle. She is strong-willed, with a slightly prickly personality. Along with Pippiluca, she seems to be involved with Alysbelle's lost memories, and worriedly keeps an eye on her gradual recollection. She is the serious, hardworking type and motivates the laid-back Pippiluca, but can be prone to bouts of bossiness and wild outbursts.
One of the faeries who is like a sister to Alysbelle. Always relaxed and easy-going. Along with Poppolina, she seems to be involved with Alysbelle's lost memories, and is very anxious about her gradual recollections. Though a bit of an odd pair, she and Poppolina have been best friends for a long time. She seems not to be a deep thinker, but is actually the more analytical of the duo.
A master swordswoman who unexpectedly takes over as head of Mihashira's Samura clan after her father and previous clan head, Totetsu, falls prey to sickness while she is away. With no time to grieve, she must face aggression from powerful foes such as the Imperium and her clan's long-time rivals, the Shugen. Though cheerful and honest, her intuition as a leader is far from lacking.
A young man who was taken in at a young age by the former Samura clan head, Totetsu, and acts like an older brother to Saya. He served as Totetsu's advisor, and does the same for Saya. He is skilled in his duties as both a monk and strategist, but is embarrassed by his failure to outwit the Shugen clan. He seems to be withholding some great secret from Saya.
A sweet girl with an almost puppy-like innocence who is also the Samura's top spy. She tries to help Saya and Kiichi overcome the Samura clan's crisis by gathering intelligence, but their efforts have yet to bear fruit. Though clumsy by nature and seemingly unreliable, she is undeniably skilled in battle. Yet, even she seems to have some grave secret she can't share with Saya or Kiichi...
The younger of a pair of siblings transformed into living weapons by Dr. Pouje's experiments. While the process almost entirely robbed his sister of free will, the doctor needed TYPE-F able to think and act on his own. Thus, he struggles to carry out his master's orders, as his aversion to killing also remains intact. He is gentle at heart, but bristles at those who see him as a monster.
A heretical researcher of the arcane based in Pandemyuon. The foremost expert on chimerization, he has no qualms about using monsters and even fellow humans as materials on his quest to perfect his techniques. His latest masterpieces, the siblings TYPE-S and TYPE-F, are in fact chimeras made from human subjects. He is driven by grand ambitions of creating the 'ultimate lifeform.'
TYPE-F's older sister. The two lived in the slums of Thauzencane until they were captured and sold to Dr. Pouje as subjects for his experiments. Previously, she was a caring older sister dedicated to protecting her brother. After having been transformed into a chimera through repeated experiments, no traces of her former self remain. She is now a weapon engaging in slaughter on Dr. Pouje's orders.
A kind young woman serving as the Saintess of Elgannacht. She rushes from place to place to offer aid to the wounded and ill, whether it be on the battlefield or in the slums. Her insistence on solving problems by taking on others' suffering verges dangerously close to a martyr complex. Predictably, this causes no end of trouble for her younger brother and aides.
A young priest handling the Nacht Church's affairs. With Meiha, the symbol of the church, dashing off left and right, his days are spent struggling to manage things in her absence. Though softhearted and as concerned as Ix is by Meiha's recklessness, he is cursed with a naturally sinister smile. He is often mistakenly assumed to be 'a villain using the Saintess to expand his influence.'
Meiha's brother, who must lead the church should anything befall her. Try as he may to rein in the Saintess' recklessness, she is unrepentant. He often nags, but is an ordinary, honest young man. He and Ywitte of the Ragnallritters have bonded over their struggles and are confidantes, despite their social statuses. Meiha and Ravelie both seem to wholeheartedly approve of this relationship.
Commander of the Ragnallritters, he worships Saintess Meiha with zealous fervor bordering on insanity. His exploits subjugating the Nacht Church's foes with his battle cry of 'Elgan!!' are tales told with awe and not a few pained laughs. His martial prowess is said to nearly equal Heinbart and Zeilzarde's. A reasonable man aside from anything involving Meiha, he is respected by those he commands.
Also called the 'Sun of the Ragnallritters,' she and Ywitte are held up as twin paragons of knighthood. Energetic and optimistic, her strength allows her to break through enemy lines easily. Though cheerful by nature, she has a cutting, sarcastic side for her foes. Her feelings for Grahm seem to run deeper than simple respect, and his infatuation with Meiha causes her no end of grief.
Also called the 'Moon of the Ragnallritters,' she and Ravelie are held up as twin paragons of knighthood. Anxious and pessimistic, in battle she uses skill and speed to gain the upper hand. While shy and a little obsessed with flowers, her inner strength comes through when needed. Despite their differences, she and Ravelie are the best of friends, supporting each other in love and all else.
A young mage leading the survivors of Rashanna, who live in a secluded village. His ancestors' grudges burn in his veins as he seeks revenge on both Mysteine, whose queen crafted the accursed Brigandine long ago, and the Novus Imperium, who rose to power without a thought for its historic ally. He has a unique and dramatic way of speaking, causing others to view him as...eccentric.
A skilled diviner-in-training and Velkk's childhood friend. The advice and emotional support she provides Velkk are indispensable. A sweet, gentle, and reserved girl, she is rather far from anyone's idea of an avenger. The truth is, she cares nothing for their clan's vengeance, and only follows Velkk to protect both him and Sheazlika, who is like a little sister to the two of them.
A knife-wielding girl who has spent her short life honing the art of the kill. Her appearance and agility are rather rabbit-like, but her resolve to sink her blade into a certain queen's throat—or die trying—is that of a true assassin. She adores Velkk and Lettoria, seeing them as older siblings, and in a sense, it is an excess of childlike innocence that drives her to kill for their sakes.

There she met Radáfnir, who now protects her as she struggles to find her own path in life.
Head of the Shugen clan and a strategist with snake-like cunning. Her dearest wish is to unite Mihashira and bring everlasting peace to the Shugen, and she single-mindedly devotes her all to making it a reality. She remains unshaken in the face of unexpected setbacks, simply adapting her tactics accordingly. As a leader, she clearly outclasses Saya at the onset of the war.
A swordsman originally from the Samura, he goes where he pleases as a wanderer. He met Saya by chance during her journey and taught her a few moves on a whim. Now, it seems he is staying with Rindo out of a sense of duty to repay a personal debt for her help in the past. His sword-drawing technique is particularly impressive, cutting down opponents in a flash.
A portly Shugen clan sorcerer with a crass laugh and dubious countenance. His nefarious schemes make him incredibly difficult to manage, and he even goes so far as to keep secrets from the clan head, Rindo. Now with the continent in crisis, he seems to be pursuing a mysterious goal... All that can be said for certain is that he won't hesitate to offer up sacrificial pawns in its pursuit.
An enigmatic geisha who has beguiled Shanzelman, the wealthy merchant who controls Great Yuen Shen, making her the one who truly pulls its strings. Even their immediate allegiance to the Novus Imperium was her decision. As the empire's vanguard, the target of her constant aggression is Mihashira, or more specifically, the Samura. Yet her true motivations are shrouded in mystery.
The top-ranked member of Great Yuen Shen's merchant guild and the city's de facto leader. However, his obsession with the youthful beauty of the geisha Mioran has made him her puppet. He was once a trustworthy man who practiced safe business, making his current one-sided behavior truly unprecedented. This has brought significant instability to Great Yuen Shen, but he seems unconcerned.
A young martial artist employed as a guard by the top merchant of Great Yuen Shen, Shanzelman. However, he admires Mioran and now accompanies her as a personal bodyguard (with Shanzelman's approval). It seems he does this to grow closer to his own ideals, and not because of her charms... Regardless, his detachedness and peculiar speech make it difficult to guess what he's thinking.
Following the death of his father, Jugant, at the hands of the empire during the continental summit, he takes over as leader of the flying caravan. Fueled by hatred for the empire, he chooses to stand against them by making use of his skills as a trader. Together with his adoptive sister Limnille and the sagacious Flurriae, he flies about the land delivering supplies to anti-empire factions.
Saved from a Thauzencane black market by Jugant and his crew, she has been a member of the flying caravan's family ever since. She has romantic feelings for Arcus, who risked his life to save her, and learned magic to better aid him. Around Arcus, she tends to adopt a lady-like demeanor, but she is strong-willed and absolutely unforgiving towards anyone who would try to do him harm.
A veteran of the caravan and long-time trusted aide of Jugant. Despite her own grief over Jugant's death, she does her best to lift the spirits of Arcus and Limnille, and acts as something like a big sister to the new caravan leader. She is a kind and caring breeder of beasts such as rukhs, but her past as an experienced warrior bubbles to the surface when she loses her temper.
The savage young leader of the Ebony Fang, an evil band of mercenaries. One day he wandered into a squalid crossroads town filled with ruffians and ash wolves, and before long, turned them all to his side, forming a fearsome military force. Utterly ruthless to enemies, he is fiercely loyal to allies, including Thorn, his tactician and sworn friend, and Valgeroth, head of his special attack force.
A mage who graduated with excellent marks from Graudi, the Academy of Sorcery. He now exercises his considerable ingenuity and acumen as tactician for the infamous Ebony Fang mercenaries. While the reason the Ebony Fang chose to serve the Imperium is unclear, their actions were no doubt guided by their tactician. He is calm, prideful, and has absolute confidence in the stratagems he devises.

A beauty who served as a Mysteine spy 70 years ago. She was captured after deciding to infiltrate Noblesse Exaltée at her own discretion. Pleased with her looks and the taste of her blood, the vampire king chose to make her his retainer. However, she no longer begrudges this and is unwaveringly loyal to her master, to the point that she wishes for him to not drink from anyone else.
A young dollmaker of Gnomonossos. Good natured, laid back, and well known for his puppet shows, Gnomonossos' children affectionately call him 'Uncle Setz.' His simple life was disrupted when his favorite doll became host to a samurai spirit and a young girl in his care got possessed. Now with the Imperium's war, he is forced to protect his life and home by taking on the mantle of leader.
A young girl who is a natural medium, and often gets possessed by wandering spirits. She cares deeply for Setz, who is always there to get her out of the trouble she causes when this happens. Not the least bit sincere with her feelings, she prefers to make fun of him at every opportunity. It also seems that one rather unique spirit has been with her since early childhood...?
The leader of the Mihashira forces who fought against the old empire during the Imperial Crusade 200 years ago. Killed in battle, his spirit wandered until it settled within Setz's favorite doll, perhaps drawn in due to Paulatika being a medium for spirits. Carrying the same grudge against the new empire as he did against the old, he hopes to be the one to bring about their end.
A girl who inherited the Reapers' duty of 'culling overabundant souls.' When the Great Dullahans appeared as legend foretold and chose her as their 'Oracle,' she gleefully began a campaign of slaughter. Her wits are as sharp as her blade and she has noticed something amiss with the Great Dullahans she serves, but continues to use their will as an excuse to slake her thirst for blood.
Formerly an apothecary from Cermuin, he joined the Nacht Church to hone his healing skills. The rise of the Imperium and resultant surge in banditry caused him to be attacked during a pilgrimage, but he was saved by Kyrika and the Dhirgia. Seeing her drunk on bloodlust, he is filled with concern for her mental state and desires to travel together so he can heal her.
The original chief of Dhirgia. However, as he was not chosen as the 'Oracle' who receives the guidance of the Great Dullahans, he has turned its leadership over to the young Kyrika and taken up his axe as just another warrior. Due to his dedication to making the resource-poor Diminue Village prosper, he has built up a reputation across the continent as someone who is not to be underestimated.
The 'Queen of Beasts' who acts as leader to all who live in the Greatwood. She has a dignified and noble bearing, and is extremely self-disciplined. Greatly troubled by the recent centaur disappearances, she has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. Though she comes off as harsh, once engaged in conversation she proves to be quite understanding.
A self-proclaimed 'Great Detective' who made a name for himself in Solginat. Following his motto, 'Where goes mystery, there goes Joshua,' he entered the Greatwood alone to investigate the missing centaurs and ended up in Cermuin. He was mistaken for the culprit and imprisoned, but managed to clear his name and now continues his investigation of the incidents as Valmyrra's employee.
Chief of the centaurs, who live with and support the Woodfolk. In accordance with his belief that 'all living things should live close to nature,' he has the troubling habit of demanding not only he, but everyone he meets discard their clothing. He is very proud of his physique and keeps his muscles in peak condition. Needless to say, he is greatly concerned about the missing centaurs.
The 'Priest of Waters' who leads the land of water, Santrea. His concern about a potential clash with the Imperium led him to a bold idea—to put the entire country on ships and strike out for a new home. Despite his pacifism he is far from weak, and his magical abilities are impressive, especially his barriers. He is troubled not just by the Imperium, but also his pirate uncle's wellbeing.
A temple knight sworn to serve the family of Iuste, Priest of Waters, and the followers of the temple's faith. An honest, hardworking man who used to be a country fisherman, but found success after becoming a temple knight in the capital to support his family. On a mission to defeat a sea monster, he was thrown overboard and straight into a romance with the mermaid Tienne.
The daughter of a mermaid chief from the deep sea near Santrea. After meeting Pescar when he was tossed into the ocean, she fell in love with him and was granted two legs in exchange for her tail by his lord, Iuste. She is currently enjoying romantic bliss with Pescar in the capital of Santrea, Santarioso, while working as a songstress in a tavern.
A middle-aged pirate who hails from the bloodline of the priests of Santrea. He could not stand the dull, quiet life of the priesthood and his desire for an exciting life led him to the open seas. The two things he values above all else are his daughter Pearl and his ship the Whirlpool Geas. Any who attempt to harm either will be shown no mercy.
Corallion's energetic daughter, who lives on his pirate ship with him. Though she has no official duties yet, as the successor to the Lionhearts she spends her days dreaming of becoming a great pirate. She has a slightly cheeky personality, but like most people her age she strongly desires friends. Her origin seems to be a secret that even she herself is unaware of...
Corallion's closest companion who has been with him ever since he left Santrea and formed the Lionhearts. Despite appearing to be a simple sailor, Nelysse manages supplies, routes, and information and is the backbone of the crew. Though physically male, Nelysse prefers to be treated as a woman, and usually has a gentle demeanor...but is rather terrifying when angered.
Headmaster of Graudi, an academy of sorcery located in a corner of the desert. An amiable, good-natured old man, he is a powerful mage who often frets over the future of the sorcerous tradition. While he dreams of arming all the continent's poor with knowledge, whether they have magical power or not, he has no concrete plans yet. With the Imperium on a rampage, it seems all the more unattainable.
A noble girl studying abroad. Daughter of the Solginat general, Heinbart. Furious at those who took over her country, as well as at her father who became the Novus Imperator's right-hand man, she is tormented by her own powerlessness. Sarcastic and antisocial, there are few she can call friends. Feared as the 'Tentacle Princess,' she commands a kraken familiar and unique water magics.

This can cause him to go overboard when faced with faeries, angels, or even his own mermaid. He pays special attention to the solitary Natalica. Despite his desire to grow closer to her, her frequent rejections indicate his prospects are grim.
Ruler of the desert kingdom Archacia, he is known as the 'Great King of the Desert.' He carries out the duty of his people to protect the countless legends and ruins across the land. Supremely level-headed, he cautiously watches even as the Novus Imperium sows chaos. Despite this, he is not without his quirks, often posing riddles or providing guidance to promising young men and women.
The 'Ever-Mother,' a mythic figure said to have existed since before Archacia's founding. Savaar is one of her remote descendants. Her appearance is that of a young girl, and she possesses a childlike selfishness. Despite this, her will to act is as strong as ever when the nation she founded faces danger. In a sense, she remains the true pillar of Archacia to this day.
A notorious bandit once feared as the 'Sand Viper.' He is an odd individual who was forced to work for the Archacian royal house (largely without compensation) as punishment after having been captured when trying to rob one of their ruins. All that is known for certain is he claims to be the true heir of Abyssloa, and has begun a ruthless campaign to bring the entire continent under his dominion.
Former general of Solginat, now one of the Dark Triumvirate. Though known as the Kingsblade, he joined Chaossolus' insurrection and betrayed both king and country. Residing in the former Solginat royal residence, the Sun King Chateau (now renamed 'Kingsblade Fortress'), he mercilessly oppresses neighboring regions. He lives only for battle—an obsession bordering on madness.
One of the Novus Imperium's Dark Triumvirate, this mage is the very image of the Founding Queen who saved Meltitea long ago. As she never speaks, her true identity remains unclear, but the extent of her power is such that her being the legendary queen herself is not out of the question. Steadily rooting out the Novus Imperium's enemies, she cuts a terrifying figure indeed.
An enigmatic mage who helped enable Chaossolus' coup by sharing innovations such as the Brigandine of Cataclysm. He serves as one of the Novus Imperium's Dark Triumvirate but behaves more like a collaborator than a subordinate, clearly pursuing some unknown goal of his own. Everything about him leaves one with the impression that they are dealing with a highly unusual individual.
